The Datura Press | Modern Gothic Fiction, Mythic Storytelling & The Datura Tapes

The Datura Press is a Florence-based literary imprint for the haunted, the myth-minded, and the beautifully strange.

We publish experimental gothic fiction, modern myths, and dark, character-driven worlds that are built to linger.

Your new gothic heroine

A teenage witch. A crumbling empire. A story told like a secret — and never the same way twice.

An unnerving slice of Americana.

A slow-burn detonation of paranoia, violence, and surreal revelation in an America that never quite existed.

A stylized drawing of a woman with her hair obscuring her face, and the hashtag #FEERSUMHANDMAIDEN written at the bottom.

Amarah Ray Jones

DarkArc011

Amarah found inspiration in a poem she wrote to herself as a teen, telling her to watch out for her own heart and as she strived to succeed not to lose her own peace and inner life.

A very different vibe to her usual hard hitting street poetry, it’s a slow and sultry dub tune showing she really did have wisdom beyond her years way back when.

Forged right here in Florence in our DarkArc studios, Amarah and in-house mixdesk maniacs darkStylus have create an empowering tune to fill the dancefloor and youre heart
