1. Who We Are

Datura Press is a fiercely independent literary imprint dedicated to publishing strange, beautiful, and genre-defiant fiction. We are a small team of writers, editors, and creators based in Florence and beyond — working across borders, disciplines, and shadows. Our stories are myth-minded, morally complex, and formally inventive. We believe in books that bloom darkly, linger in the bloodstream, and speak to the liminal spaces of memory, power, and identity.

2. Why We Made This Imprint

We built Datura because we wanted a home for fiction that doesn’t fit into easy categories — books that are too literary for genre shelves, too speculative for the realist crowd, too strange to play it safe. These are stories that take risks. That haunt. That reward readers who read closely. We wanted to give these books the attention, design, and editorial care they deserve — outside of a market often afraid of what can’t be tidily explained. We made The Datura Press to prove they belong.

3. Our Titles

We launched with three distinct, daring works:

• Narcisa — A myth-soaked gothic fantasy set in 18th-century Bukovina, where a teenage witch rewrites her fate through memory, rebellion, and ancient power.

• Walker Awake — A noir alternate-history thriller set in a broken 1950s America, where a nameless man arrives in a forgotten Texas town with no past — and no way out.

• The Death at the Door — The first casebook of Professor Manton Marble, occult investigator, as he faces a vampire terror cell led by the ghost of his wife.

Each book is part of a growing constellation of strange literature — rich in character, voice, and world. These aren’t just novels. They’re invitations.
