  • The Datura Press is a Florence-based independent publisher dedicated to bold, unconventional, and transformative literature. Like the nocturnal datura flower, our books bloom in the margins—beautiful, dangerous, unforgettable.   • The datura flower is known for its mysterious beauty, intoxicating scent, and transformative properties. It blooms at night and has long been associated with vision, ritual, and metamorphosis. For us, it’s the perfect symbol of literature that opens doors to hidden worlds and deeper truths.

  • Yes—but only during our annual open reading period, announced via our newsletter and social channels. Submissions outside this window cannot be considered. Please visit our Submissions Page for current dates, manuscript guidelines, and eligibility details.
